Gymnasium Enhancement Project

Cardinal Gibbons High School is excited to announce the plans for a new gymnasium renovation project that will be underway this summer. This announcement was celebrated on Saturday, February 4 at the Title IX Celebrating 50 Years of Women in Sports celebration that honored former Athletic Director and a pioneer for women’s sports - Louise Crocco. The initiation of this project has been made possible by the generous capital contributions of longstanding Gibbons supporters, the Macek Family.

In May 2023, the gymnasium renovation is expected to start construction and will include enhancements to the flooring, bleachers, and lobby. As a former CGHS coach, athletic director, and supporter of Title IX and women in sports, the gymnasium will be named in Louise Crocco’s honor. And in appreciation for the generous donations to the athletic facility in which all of our students and families will enjoy for the next fifty years, the lobby of the Macek Family Athletic Center will soon follow renovations.
