In Loving Memory of Penny Minich
Suzanna Zaden

Penny Minich, 67, of Titusville, PA, passed away on December 29, 2024, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Penny lived a life filled with love, purpose, and profound generosity.

Born and raised in Titusville, Penny met her soulmate, James Minich, 55 years ago, beginning a beautiful journey together. They welcomed their beloved daughter, Ciera Jo, in 1983, and Penny became a proud grandmother in 2023 when her grandson Jordan was born. She embraced the role of “Grandma” with unmatched joy and love, forming an unbreakable bond with her family.

Penny dedicated over 26 years of her life to Cardinal Gibbons High School as a staff member and yearbook coordinator. Her passion for education and mentorship left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students and colleagues. Beyond the classroom, Penny’s compassion extended far and wide as she quietly supported students in need, never seeking recognition for her selflessness.

An adventurer at heart, Penny loved traveling to the islands, road trips through the mountains, soaking in the beauty of the world with her family. A true beach lover, she cherished every moment spent by the ocean under the warmth of the sun. She would venture to Europe with her students, helping them experience new cultures.  Known for her thoughtfulness, Penny had a gift for making others feel special through her heartfelt gestures and meaningful gifts.

Penny is survived by her loving husband, James; her daughter, Ciera, and son-in-law, Larry; her cherished grandson, Jordan; her sister, Piney; her brother, Jody; her mother, Sue Ann; her uncle Clare; and her dear friend and aunt, Betty Jean (BJ).

In honor of Penny’s legacy, the family is establishing a scholarship in her name to support the Cardinal Gibbons Wrestling team, reflecting her lifelong dedication to education and helping others. Donations can be made to a GoFundMe towards a wrestling scholarship in Penny’s name.  https://www.gofundme.com/f/honor-penny-minich-support-cghs-wrestling
