Cardinal Gibbons senior Zach Dumas earned Academic All American Honors from the National Speech & Debate Association in January. According to the NSDA, only the top two percent of students nationally receive the award, which combines success in speech and debate competition with academic excellence in the classroom over four years.

The NSDA awards Academic All American Honors to students who have "earned the degree of Superior Distinction (750 points); completed at least five semesters of high school; demonstrated outstanding character and leadership; and earned a GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)."

Dumas is the first Cardinal Gibbons student in many years to earn this honor.
