The Cardinal Gibbons Competitive Cheerleading team captured the Class 1A State Championship this past weekend at the FHSAA State Cheerleading Competition, held on January 23 in Lakeland, Florida.

The team delivered a standout performance, showcasing precision, athleticism, and teamwork to earn the top spot in their division. The state title is a testament to the team’s dedication, countless hours of preparation, and commitment to excellence throughout the season.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Julie St. Thomas, the team has continued to raise the standard for competitive cheer at Cardinal Gibbons. Coach St. Thomas’s guidance and the athletes’ hard work culminated in an unforgettable championship moment for the program.

With the state title secured, the team’s season is not over yet. They will travel to Orlando this upcoming weekend to represent the school at Nationals, where they will compete against top programs from across the country.

We are incredibly proud of our cheerleaders and Coach St. Thomas for this outstanding achievement and wish them the best of luck as they take the national stage. Go Chiefs!
