Dear Cardinal Gibbons Family,
As we joyfully await the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, I wish you and your loved ones a blessed and peaceful holiday season.
We’ve had another successful first semester, filled with growth and achievement both in the classroom and throughout our entire school community. I am particularly proud of the dedication and excellence our teachers and students continue to demonstrate as we elevate faith and academics. As alumni, past parents, and supporters, you help make this possible—not only through tuition but also through your time, talent, and treasure, especially your generous donations to the Annual Fund. Please know how deeply grateful our students, faculty, staff, and administration are for your ongoing support.
As we prepare for and reflect during this Christmas season—from Christmas Day through the Baptism of the Lord—let’s embrace the opportunity to celebrate not just Christmas Day, but the entire season that follows. This sacred time invites us to enter more deeply into the story of Jesus’ coming to be one with our lives and to open our hearts to how He continues to bless each of us.
This Christmas also marks the opening of Jubilee 2025 - Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis wrote regarding the Jubilee, “We must fan the flame of hope that has been given us, and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart and far-sighted vision.” Let us join the universal Church in celebrating this holy year, taking time to renew our commitment to Christ and to each other as we move forward in our mission as a school community.
I encourage you to take a moment to enjoy this beautiful selection, brought to you by our CGHS Music Ensembles, and to be enveloped in the true Spirit of Christmas.
We look forward to creating more special moments and lasting memories in 2025, as we continue to grow together as a community and embrace the graces of this Jubilee Year.
