Cardinal Gibbons Mock Trial Team Competes in First Virtual Tournament in School History

The Cardinal Gibbons Mock Trial team competed against 31 teams from around the United States and Canada in the Empire Mock Trial World Championship, which began on Nov. 12. 

This tournament marked the first time in school history that students in the Mock Trial program competed virtually. The team dedicated numerous hours to tournament preparations over the course of the last five months.  

During the tournament, which was initially scheduled to be held in New York but was moved to an online format due to COVID-19, 10 Cardinal Gibbons students competed as a team in four trials based on a criminal burglary case. The team finished ninth overall in their respective division.
