Cardinal Gibbons Mock Trial Team Competes at Providence Cup

The Cardinal Gibbons Mock Trial Team competed in the Providence Cup in Colorado held October 17–19.
Team members Max Fuchs, Lucas Himawan, Sonoma Ghosh, Leslie Umana, Bella Mergler, Ariana Cady, Lilly Zinn, and Maria Villarreal Rojas prepared both the prosecution and defense for a first-degree murder case set in 1923.
Gibbons earned the Rookie Team Award based on their performance across four trials. Thirty programs from across the country competed in the 2025 Providence Cup, the only national high school competition that combines history, law, and trial advocacy.
The team is coached by Mrs. Sarahnell Murphy and Mr. Luiz Bravim.
