A. Dumas '21 Qualifies for National Speech & Debate Association 2021 National Championship; Sosa '20 Secures First Alternate Position

Two Cardinal Gibbons Speech and Debate team members are now eligible to compete in the National Speech & Debate Association 2021 National Championship after an outstanding showing at the National Qualifying Tournament. Senior Alex Dumas qualified to Nationals in Lincoln-Douglas debate, while his teammate, Roberto Sosa, a junior, secured a position as first alternate to Nationals.
Dumas will compete against dozens of the nation's top debaters in June, representing the Manatee District at the world's largest speech and debate tournament.
All members of the Cardinal Gibbons Speech and Debate team ended the tournament with winning records.
