Cardinal Gibbons High School Principal Oscar Cedeño and Assistant Principal of Academics and Curriculum Dr. Katrina Azevedo recently announced the names of students who qualified for acceptance into the Cardinal Gibbons Excelsior program for the 2020-2021 school year. This year, 90 students qualified for the exclusive group. 

Each year, the Excelsior program highlights students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, as well as a passion for their studies and a commitment to excellence. Students must meet the following criteria, based on their grade-level, in order to qualify for membership in Excelsior:

Freshmen        90% or above on HSPT
Sophomore     Top 10% of class and PSAT score of 1100 or above
Junior              Top 10% of class and PSAT score of 1200 or above 
Senior              Top 10% of class and PSAT score of 1250 or above 
**The Top 10 seniors, juniors and sophomores have been added to this years' criteria AND freshmen who earned 85-89% on their HSPT have also been included.
