City of Ft. Lauderdale Volunteering
May 15 9:00 am – 12:00 am, Special Fort Lauderdale Beach Cleanup | No RSVP required
Each year hundreds of beach lovers collect over 80,000 cigarette butts, thousands of plastic straws, and several tons of trash. We need your help to maintain our pristine beaches and will welcome you for a special cleanup at the HUB, 300 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd, aka. the intersection where Las Olas Blvd meets the beach. We disinfect the pickers and bucket handles. Volunteers should practice social distancing and are responsible to bring their own face mask. Unfortunately, the City cannot provide free parking for this event but there is plenty of paid parking at the new parking garage just north of Las Olas Blvd on the east side of the Intracoastal. For more information contact Mariana Sorroza at email@example.com
May 15 9:30 am – 11:30 am, Library Restocking | RSVP required
Every Child Reads – Nothing Else Matters! Please join Action For Literacy team leaders to restock 5-10 of Fort Lauderdale’s 101 Little Free Libraries. Each year caring volunteers collect and distribute over 35,000 age appropriate books to ensure that every child learns to read at the end of third grade. The team will meet at 9:30 am sharp at the city hall parking garage, 100 N. Andrews Ave. Volunteers are asked to use their personal vehicles to refill 5-10 libraries along a predetermined route. There will be no personal contact and social distancing can be maintained. All volunteers are asked to bring their own masks and PPE. For more information contact Meg Hooper at firstname.lastname@example.org

You will need to arrive by 3:40 p.m. and will be finished about 5:10 p.m. If you want to share this ministry with another student, both students will receive Christian Service hours.
Please contact Mrs. Henehan in Campus Ministry or the parish office (954) 941-7647 if you have any questions or are interested in the Christian Service.
