Drama & Theater

Theater is considered to be one of the greatest forms of expression and, at Cardinal Gibbons, we pride ourselves on our exceptional and inclusive theater program. Students of all grade levels are afforded multiple opportunities to participate in our Drama program, regardless of their level of previous experience. With the guidance of our outstanding faculty and staff members, students cultivate their skills in acting, vocals and dance. We encourage our students to become involved in a number of facets of drama and theater and provide opportunities for students to become student directors, choreographers, stage managers, prop and costume artists and actors. Whether they’re on stage or in the classroom, we strive to provide every member of the Cardinal Gibbons family with an opportunity to perfect their craft for a personally and artistically satisfying theatrical experience.

Our Drama students are challenged year-round, producing two major productions, typically consisting of one musical and one traditional play, as well as a one-act and cabaret performances, all while competing in the International Thespian Society district and state events. Students are given additional opportunities to develop their skills and foster creativity through several masterclasses hosted throughout the year by world-renowned guest artists.

International Thespians Society: Cardinal Gibbons is a member of EDTA and registered under Troupe 6362.
