Eric Tarmey Memorial Scholarship

Eric Tarmey, Class of 2011, lost his life in a tragic car accident at the age of 23. While at Cardinal Gibbons, Eric was an energetic, enthusiastic young man with a passion for soccer. He almost always had a smile on his face, counted almost everyone as a friend, and maintained a solid "B" average. After graduation he pursued his passion for soccer at Nova Southeastern, Andrew College and Keiser University.

Eric’s family has chosen to memorialize his time and contributions to Cardinal Gibbons High School by establishing a scholarship in his name. This scholarship is open to all current freshmen, sophomores and juniors and will be announced and awarded at the Academic Awards Ceremony on May 13, 2024.

The recipient of The Eric Tarmey Memorial Scholarship will be chosen by the Tarmey Family, based on an essay submission. Students may choose one of the following topics:

  • Why is a Cardinal Gibbons education important to me?
  • What community service have I been involved in which would make me a worthy recipient of this award?
