Digital Video Technology Pathway
About the Program
This program caters to high school students in a digital video technology pathway, focusing on hands-on video recording and editing experience and culminating with a work-based learning capstone project and comprehensive digital portfolio. This multi-faceted approach equips students with a professional Adobe Premiere Pro certification, fosters creativity and collaboration, and strengthens students’ technical expertise, preparing them for success in the dynamic and growing field of digital video production.
What to Expect:
- Competitions: Attend the Student Television Network Challenge Competition, Florida Scholastic Press Association Digital Contests, Fall Frenzy CompetitionDevelop your technical communication and problem-solving skills
- Guest Speakers: Students will have the opportunity to participate in guest lectures and presentations from industry professionals. These sessions will provide valuable insights into current trends, best practices, and career opportunities within the digital media and video production industries, further enhancing their learning and professional development.
- Field Trips: Students will attend external field trips that provide hands-on opportunities beyond the classroom environment with local partners (i.e. universities, companies, etc.), such as local new stations and more.
- Hands-On Learning: Students will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as other digital tools used in video editing, motion graphics, and sound design.
- Capstone Project: Over the course of three years, students in the Digital Video Technology pathway will develop a strong foundation in digital media production. Throughout the program, students will create a diverse portfolio of video projects, showcasing their skills in storytelling, technical proficiency, and creativity. By the end of the program, they will have developed a professional portfolio that demonstrates their capabilities in the digital video production field.
- Certifications: Students have the opportunity to earn an Adobe Premiere Pro Certification.

Academic and Program Requirements:
GPA: A 3.0 GPA is required to enroll and maintain in the program. Students must maintain a solid academic standing, staying in good standing and not on probation (attendance, academic performance, or discipline). Students must earn a C or higher in Pathway courses to maintain status in the program.
