Allied Health Science Pathway

About the program
This pathway offers high school students a comprehensive overview of the nursing profession. Focused on attaining a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, the curriculum blends classroom learning with hands-on experience. Students engage in practical skills development within the classroom setting and further enhance their capabilities through through shadowing and volunteer opportunities at local hospitals.

What to expect:

• Guest Speakers: Throughout the program, students will attend presentations by healthcare professionals, offering valuable insights into the nursing field and various career opportunities.
• Field Trips: Students will take part in external field trips to local universities, hospitals, and healthcare companies, providing hands-on learning experiences beyond the classroom.
• Hands-On Labs and Hospital Experience: Students will engage in practical skills development within the classroom through hands-on labs. Students will be required to do volunteer hours in local hospitals to expose them to a variety of healthcare careers in real clinical settings. 
• Certifications: Students will have the opportunity to earn their CNA certification upon successful completion of the program, giving them a head start in the healthcare field.
