Standards

The minimum number of credits required per year for each student is six (6). Grades earned for courses beyond six (6) must appear on the report card. Any student who has failed a course at the end of the first or the second semester is expected to attend a summer session to earn the missing credits before the students may enroll for the subsequent school year. Eighteen credits (18) are required before the student may begin the senior year.

Service Hours

Service to the community is the student’s way of putting the tenets of the religion courses into everyday living. Each student must complete ten (10) service hours per semester in which he/she has a Theology Class.
The minimum total number of service hours over a period of four (4) years is seventy (70), ten (10) of which must be completed during the semester they take Religion in the freshman year, and ten (10) per semester in their Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. Community Service hours must be performed outside normal school hours. Refer to the specific guidelines as explained on the Community Service Hours form.
The completion of these hours for each specific year is required of the student in order to return to Cardinal Gibbons High School for the following academic year.
