Track and Field

Jonathan is a three-year member of the cross country team, serving as captain in his senior year. He is also a three-year member of the track and field team, also serving as captain in his senior year. He was awarded a BCAA Scholarship of Merit at the conference banquet last week. Jonathan is an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, an Honor Roll student, and placed third in the Science Olympiad Regional. He ranks 4th in a class of 262.

For the second straight year, junior Macy Huskey won the 1600 meter run at the BCAA Track Championships in dramatic fashion. Saturday night at Coral Springs High, running the event for only the second time this year, Huskey (5:17) outkicked Isabelle Amaro (West Broward) and Alexandra Payne (St. Thomas). She has not lost the 1600 to a Broward runner in the past two years. Freshman teammate Morgan Rodriguez was sixth. 1600 is slightly shorter than one mile.

1. Practice begins each day at 3:00 unless there is an early dismissal or day off. Saturday practices are at 9:00. When there is an early dismissal, practice starts 25 minutes after the final bell. Be punctual. If practice times are changed, it is your responsibility to find out when.
