Lady Chiefs Win Stuart Tournament

The Girls Volleyball team picked up five wins in the East Coast Challenge over the weekend, defeating Martin County in the final 25-22, 25-18 behind Katie Hillman's 10 kills, two digs, five blocks, seven service points, and two aces. In the semifinal, Gibbons topped Jensen Beach 25-21, 25-13. Now in different classes, the two had met in the regional finals the past five years. Sara Jacobs had nine digs, two assists, and eight service points.

In pool play, on Friday the Lady Chiefs beat Okeechobee 25-10, 25-16, and Miami Palmetto 25-21, 25-16. Against Okeechobee Leigh Andrew had 13 kills, five digs, six blocks, nine service points, and one ace. Versus Palmetto, Hannah Hillis had two kills, one block, ten service points, and three aces. To wrap up pool play on Saturday morning, the girls defeated Boca Raton 16-25, 25-17, 15-11. Caiti Donahoe had 31 assists, ten digs, two blocks, one kill, six service points, and one ace. Hillman, Donahoe, and Andrew were named to the All-Tournament Team.  9/25/11
