Tryouts - Practice Schedule - Mandatory Forms

Several forms must be completed prior to participating in any of our athletic programs. Every athlete must have an up-to-date physical with the proper ELIGIBILITY FORMS completed. CGHS Athletics has arranged FREE PHYSICALS for all of our student-athletes. The Fall Season of sports is quickly approaching. Dates and criteria for FALL SPORTS TRYOUTS vary by individual sport. All forms and information are linked below. GO CHIEFS! 
These forms include the FHSAA approved physical and all of the Eligibilty forms 
Available to all CGHS Athletes on Saturday June 3rd at 8:00 AM
OrthopedixMD Centers of Excellence (formerly Meli Orthopedic)

Spring Football Action

Spring Football practice is well inderway. The team played a Red vs White scrimmage yesterday at Carter Park. The team has high expectations for next year and the scrimmage highlighted some of the team's talented players.  The Spring game is Wednesday May 24th at 5:00 PM at home against Taravella High School.

Baseball team moves on to Regional Semi-Finals

District 14 Rematch

Chiefs Baseball earns another post-season victory with a 6-3 road win over Lincoln Park Academy (Ft. Pierce). The Chiefs are now 3-1 in post-season play. The Chiefs move on to the regional semi-finals. The semi-finals match-up vs Pompano Beach High School features a rematch of the District 14 title game. The Chiefs play at Pompano on Tuesday 5/16 at 7:00 PM.  The winner advances to the Regional Finals with a State Final Four on the horizon. GO CHIEFS!

Team Travels to Lincoln Park (Ft. Pierce)

Good luck to the Baseball team in the Regional Quarter-Finals - vs Lincoln Park Academy (Ft. Pierce) at Lawnwood Stadium, Tuesday 5/9 at 7:00 PM.

State Champions - Track 4x100 Relay Team

The Chiefs 4x100 relay team won the FHSAA Class 5A State championship this past weekend.
Carlos Sandy (11th), Vincent Davis (10th), Christian Wells (10th) and Marquis Williams (11th) brought home the first ever state title in the 4x100 Relay.  The team broke the 24 year old school record numerous times this year with a record time of 40.85 in the regional finals. The prior record was set by H. Westley, R. Clarke, J. Bostic and K. Norwood in 1993.  

Boys Volleyball Finishes Top 4 at State Tournament

State Semi-Finalist 2017

Congratulations to the Boys Volleyball team for their TOP 4 STATE FINISH in the 2017 FHSAA State Tournament. They Chiefs won their quarter-finals round, upsetting undefeated Boca High in 5 sets. The Chiefs gave way in the state semi-finals mathup against Lake Mary finishing the year with a 24 wins and TOP 4 State Finish!

Sophomore Jimmy Nutt finishes 6th at state Meet

Congratulations to Jimmy Nutt for his sixth place finish in the Men's Pole Vault at the FHSAA State Tournament. Jimmy broke the sophomore school record earlier in the school year.

Baseball Team Advances to District finlas

The Chiefs baseball team qualified for the FHSAA Regional Playoffs with wins over Coral Springs Charter and Somerset Academy. The Chiefs play Pompano for the district championship. The Chiefs two close games the Tornados earlier in the year. Both teams advance to the Regional Playoffs next week.   

Boys Volleyball Advances to state Tournament

The boys volleyball team defeated defending state champion Archbishop McCarthy in three straight games. The victory advances the team to the state tournmanet. The Chiefs take on Boca High in the quarter-finals round of the state tournament. The game is Friday, May 5th at 3:00 PM at Golden Gate High School.  Read the related Sun Sentinel article here.

Congratulations to Student-Athlete Eric Andreassen and Coach Micheal Morrill. 
Eric was recognized By the Brian Piccolo Chapter as a 2017 Scholar Athlete and Coach Morrill for his Contributions to Amateur Athletics.

Track & Field Compete in City Championship

State Bound - Girls Water Polo

The Girls Water Polo team furthers it season as it edges Cypress Bay 11-10 in the State-Play-In game. The Chiefs victory against the District 12 Champion (Cypress Bay Lightning) moves them on to the quarter-finals round of the state tournament. The Chiefs are one of eight teams remaining, all vying for a state title. A milestone for the Chiefs, as it marks the furthest run in CGHS water polo history!  
Next up, the Chiefs take on Winter Park in the quarter-finals match on Friday, April 7th, 10:30 AM at Ransom Everglades High School (Miami).  The winner advances to the semi-finals round at 5:00 PM. The state championship match-up takes place the following day, Saturday April 8th at 2:00 PM.  Click here for more tournament details.
