Posted On: 10/29/2018 1:29 PM

Senior flutist Yolanda St. Fleur has been invited to participate in the Florida State University College of Music Tri-State Band Festival from Thursday, Nov. 29 through Sunday, Dec. 2 on the campus of Florida State University.

The Tri-State Band Festival brings together Florida’s top high school musicians for a rewarding weekend of musical programs and experiences, including masterclasses and professional clinics, as well as concerts and rehearsals under the direction of nationally and internationally renowned conductors and Florida State University faculty.

This year’s Tri-State Band Festival invitation is but one of the many impressive accomplishments St. Fleur has added to her resume throughout her music career. St. Fleur, who is not only proficient with the flute, but also with the piccolo, oboe and various percussion instruments, has received Superior ratings in solo and ensemble music performance assessments at both the district and state levels and currently serves as Drum Major of the Cardinal Gibbons High School Marching Band and president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. The flute section leader has also participated in the Florida Youth Orchestra Flute Choir and FAMU Marching 100 Summer Band Camp and has recently auditioned for the All-State Honor Band.

St. Fleur has expressed interest in attending the University of Florida, Florida State University or Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University to pursue a degree in law.
